“The Fan Club” was written to feature Clark Terry and Bob Brookmeyer, both guest soloists with Mel Lewis and The Jazz Orchestra for their live recording in early 1980. It’s a fun blues with no doubles in the woodwind section.

This is the first time EVER that this chart has been made available. It has been re-engraved and edited directly from Bob's original manuscript score, and the original parts provided by the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra. This work was included on the Mel Lewis and The Jazz Orchestra's recording, Bob Brookmeyer: Composer/Arranger, which was not only a pivotal recording in Bob's career, but from which every composition quickly became a staple in large ensemble repertoire.
